Business
Services
Our goal at Upstanding is to
provide solutions to business problems.
Our customers utilize the products that we develop as components in the
construction of a total solution. While designed to provide maximum value
in the shortest possible time, customers must still take time to learn how
to
apply our products to their specific needs.
When customer resources are in short supply, Upstanding provides a range of services to leverage the value of our products to
our customers. The consulting services range from strategic use of
information technology to detailed optimization of an implementation.
Services are, however, not the focus of the company. For some
companies supplying enterprise systems, providing services is the
business and products are sold to generate a demand for those
services. Upstanding offers services only to satisfy the need for
a turn-key solution.
Strategic
Technology Services
Working with corporate
executives, Upstanding has been involved in
the strategic application of information technology. At this level,
Upstanding is contracted because of its comprehension of
technological changes and how they can be applied to give a
business a competitive advantage.
Because of the involvement with corporate executives and their
business objectives, Strategic Technology Services is primarily
focused on financial services with a secondary focus on manufacturing.
Installation
Services
The most straight-forward
consulting service offered by Upstanding is
that of Installation Services. The purpose of offering Installation
Services is simply that it is often more expedient to have someone
instruct a
customer on the installation of a product. In combination with the time
saved on having to read and interpret manuals, the cost of Installation
Services is minimal.
Customization Services
After Installation Services, the
next most often requested service is customization. While Installation
Services explain the capabilities of the product and apply it as-is, Customization Services mold the product
to the specific needs of the customer.
Upstanding works with the customer to understand their business
processes and then customizes the product to support those
processes. As a result, Customization Services often results in a
business process being re-implemented with the new tool.
Performance
Analysis Services
Performance analysis services
can be viewed as an auditing function.
In this role, Upstanding is involved in the analysis of a
particular implementation. The analysis results in a list of specific
recommendations that the customer should do. For example, in the analysis
of a networking issue, the issue may be the inoperability of Token Ring
networks while the recommendation may be to replace
Token Ring with Ethernet.
Outsourcing
Rather than helping the
re-implementation of a business process or
even its re-engineering, Upstanding may help the customer by taking on
responsibility for the business process. Again, because of the skill-sets
required, Outsourcing Services is offered only to a subset of the
Upstanding customer base, the Financial Services segment.
